Favorite Poems

Hi! I would like to share this poem with you it is a favorite of mine!
Sheltered
Through the pines,
  where soft breezes blow,
  through the pines,
  we see traces of snow,
  through the pines,
  where the birds build their nest,
  through the pines,
  a doe and her fawn take rest.
  Into God's arms,
  we can safely go,
  there His shelter He will bestow,
  giving us comfort and sweet rest.
  Remember, when those storms,
  start to blow,
  into God's arms,
  we can safely go.

My Favorite Bible Verses

“And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.” Luke 2:8-11KJV“.

John 3:16-17

King James Version (KJV)

 16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
 17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

Romans 5:8

King James Version (KJV)

 8But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Colossians 3:15-17

King James Version (KJV)

 15And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
 16Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
 17And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

Favorite Bible Verses

Luke 1:28-33

 28And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.
 29And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.
 30And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.
 31And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.
 32He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:
 33And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

Christmas is forever, not for just one day,

like bells and lights and tinsel, in some box upon a shelf.

Snow flakes

Snow flakes, snow flakes slowly fluttering down, softly, so softly touching the ground, snow flakes, snow flakes, so beautiful and white, covering the trees and ground, what a beautiful sight. This reminds me of how God washes away our scarlet sins and makes us white as snow, so we can brighten up His world below.

Uphill

Does the road wind up-hill all the way?
Yes, to the very end.
Will the journey take the whole long day?
From morn to night, my friend.
But is there for the night a resting place?
A roof for when the slow dark hours begin.
May not the darkness hide it from my face?
You can not miss the inn.
Shall I meet other wayfarers at night?
Those who have gone before.
Then must I knock, or call when just in sight?
They will not keep you standing at the door.
Shall I find comfort, travel-sore and weak?
Of labor you shall find the sum.
Will there be beds for me and all who seek?
Yes, beds for all who come.

He Walked With God

He "walked with God!" Could grander words
      be written?
Not much of what he thought or said is
      told;
Not where or what he wrought is even
      mentioned;
He " walked with God" ---- brief words of
      fadeless gold!
How many words were succored on his
      journey---
Helped by his words, or prayers, we may
      not know;
Still, this we read--- words of excelling
      grandeur---
He " walked with God," while yet he
      walked below.
And, after years, long years, of such blest
      walking,
One day he walked, then was not, God
      said " come!
Come from the scene of weary sin stained
      sadness!
Come to the fuller fellowship of home!"
Such be the tribute of thy pilgrim journey
When life's last mile thy feet have bravely
      trod---
When thou hast gone to all that there awaits
      thee,
This simple epitaph--- " He walked with God!"

October Days

It is early October,
the air is chilly,
the wind is blowing hard,
sifting the many colored leaves,
across the frost covered yard.
It is early October,
Thanksgiving is drawing near,
It's early October,

God of Eternity [ Fanny Crosby ]

God of Eternity
Fanny J. Crosby
Rev. Robert Lowry
God of Eternity, Author of Time,
Giver and Source of Life, Ruler sublime, -
Thou uncreated Lord, Ancient of Days,
Glorious in holiness, Fearful in praise,-

Wondrous in Majesty, Wisdom and Might,
Lo! 'twas Thy voice that said, "Let there be light;"
Vast realms and numberless, Lord, are Thy own;
Nations and sceptered kings Bow at thy throne;

Thine is a perfect law; Thy word is pure;
Righteous are all Thy ways; Thy judgments sure;
Mercy and Truth abide Ever with Thee;
Love like a river flows, Deep as the sea;

Chorus

High over all Thy works, Blest evermore,
God of the Universe, Thee we adore.

Created

 CREATED
While strolling through the woods today,
I was awed by the beautyof creation,
I was seeing along the way,
it encircled my being.
The baby blue sky,
the multitude of brightly colored leaves,
red, orange, yellow and gold,
their beauty, breath taking to behold.
The sparkling water of the beaver dam,
reflecting all the beauty around about,
caused my heart to want to shout.
Praise God! Praise God!
To God, our Creator there is no doubt.
Yes, all these things seen,
were created by the voice of God,
the creator of everything.
The only exception was man,
we were created by God's mighty hand.

A man can counterfeit love, he can counterfeit faith, he can counterfeit hope and all the other graces, but it is very difficult to counterfeit humility.-- D. L. Mood

Be not proud of race, face, place, or grace. --Charles Haddon Spurgeon
Looking at yourself in a mirror isn't exactly a study of life. --Lauren Bacall

Humility and love are precisely the graces which the men of the world can understand, if they do not comprehend doctrines. They are the graces about which there is no mystery, and they are within reach of all classes... The poorest Christian can every day find occasion for practicing love and humility. --J. C. Ryle

The Rut

While driving along on my old four wheeler, after a night of heavy rain, Oh, it was good to be on this old road again. There were puddles every where, and rough old ruts, I had to drive with care. Then, all at once that old front wheel slipped, and I was in a deep rut up to my hips. There was no way I could get out with out some aid; I thank the person, who by their hands a wench was made. In our spiritual life we were born in a deep rut called sin, there was no way out that deep valley we were in.Then God sent His Son to bare our guilt and the cost was His precious blood that had to be spilt. So let's lift our hands and voices and sing unending praise to Jesus, our Saviour and King!

Nothing But The Blood

Nothing But The Blood

Some folks seem to be offended by singing about the blood and want hymns that sing about the blood of Christ removed. Hymns like, ” Redeemed, redeemed by the blood of the Lamb”; There is power in the blood”; ” Alas! And did my Saviour bleed”; ” Saved by the blood of the Crucified One”; ” When I see the blood”; ” My faith has found a resting place”, and many others. Dear folk, if we remove the blood, we remove the gospel; If we remove the blood, we remove our hope; If we remove the blood, we remove the Saviour. We remove His love, His grace and His salvation. Without the shedding of the blood of Jesus, we have no hope of salvation and no hope of Heaven. With out the shedding of the blood of Jesus we have no remission of sins and no hope for mankind. Jesus said, ” I am the way, the truth and the life, and no man cometh to the Father but by me.” The shedding of the blood of Jesus purchased our ticket to Heaven!

I am sitting looking out side, it is a very rainy, rainy day; God has His water hose out washing the dust and dirt away. The grass and leaves are being refreshed with drops of rain they are blessed! We also are being blessed and refreshed with rain drops that fall; our spiritual rain drops as upon God we call. God answers our prayers one by one, some times not to our liking but God's will be done!

Philippians 4:8-9

King James Version (KJV)

When is it our Turn?

And if there be no light for them to share,
Dear God, forgive if what we ask is wrong?
We're only heathen children, but is it fair
That others have all the Light so long?
We do not ask that they should have the night;
We only ask, " When shall our turn come to have
the light?"

Romans 8:37-39

New King James Version (NKJV)
37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Christ is all [Author unknown ]

Had I ten thousand gifts beside,
I'd cling to Jesus crucified,
And build on Him alone;
For no foundation is there given
On which I'd place my hope of heaven,
But Christ the cornerstone.

Possessing Christ, I all possess---
Wisdom, and strength, and righteousness,
And holiness complete;
Bold in His name, I dare draw nigh
Before the Ruler of the sky
And all His justice meet.
