THE FENCE

I SEE A SQUIRREL,

RUNNING DOWN A FENCE,

TO AND FRO,

THAT POOR SQUIRREL,

WAS TRYING TO DECIDE,

WHAT TO DO,

AND WHERE TO GO.

THIS IS MUCH LIKE,

SOME PEOPLE YOU AND I KNOW,

THEY ARE ON A FENCE,

NOT KNOWING,

WHICH WAY THEY SHOULD GO.

THEY LOVE THE WORLD ,

AND SEEM TO LOVE SIN,

WHILE THEIR SOUL IS PERISHING,

THEY SEE THE LIGHT,

BUT WILL NOT INVITE HIM IN.

JESUS IS HIS NAME,

I PRAY THEY ASK HIS FORGIVENESS,

AND HIS GIFT OF SALVATION CLAIM.

THREE TREES

THREE TREES
One morning,
The air was crisp and still,
I saw on the horizon,
Three trees standing on a hill.
The two trees on the sides,
Shorter than the center one;
How they stood out,
In the rising sun.
A refuge for the birds,
In the time of storms,
A nesting place,
So peaceful and warm.
Seeing these trees,
So majestic standing in a row,
Took my mind back,
Two thousand years or so,
To a place called Calvary,
Where three wooden crosses,
Stood out plainly in a row.
On the outside crosses,
Hung two guilty thieves,
On the center cross,
Hung the only Son of God;
He was dying for you and me.
Jesus, was bearing our sins,
So we could be set free.

LIFE ASSURANCE

Good day my friends! It is a great privilege to share these few words of Scripture with you and today finishes our brief look at Assurance for the Soul. I hope you enjoyed it and was blessed!
2 Co.5:17; 1Jn.3:14-22– Assurance of a changed life!
Romans 15:12-13; Phil.4:7.

Romans 15:12-13

King James Version (KJV)
 12And again, Esaias saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust.
13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. We have assurance of joy and inner peace! Another step in the ladder of assurance is the step of victorious living. 1 John 5:4-5–
4For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
5Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? We have the Holy Spirits testimony for assurance. [ Romans 8:15-16 ]. When we are with Christ we have absolute assurance of eternal life! [ Romans 8:33-39; 2 Timothy 1:12 ]. Romans 8:38-39–
38For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Sounds I Like

Hi! Today I am feeling down, maybe the weather. The skies are a steel grey and the air is very gold, a minus 24C. The birds are flying by my window, to and fro the feeder. I am setting here looking out the window and thinking about sounds that I have heard and will here in the days to come. A poem comes to mind titled "Sounds" and it goes like this:

I love the sound, of the morning dove,
when he calls his mate in love;
I love the sound, of the distant loon,
as he sings his mournful tune;
I love the sound, of the gentle breeze,
as it moves and rustles the leaves;
I love the sound, of the falling rain,
as it strikes against the window pane;
I love the sound, of the babbling brook’
as I sit and dangle my hook;
I love the sound, of the lullaby,
as the mother soothes her child’s cry.
I love the sound, all creation gives,
and shouts the news, our creator lives;
I love the sound, of God’s Holy word,
and the great message it gives to be heard,
salvation and great hope for the lost,
comes from God at great cost.
If this great truth they believe,
eternal life they shall receive.
There is a sound, I am waiting for,
the sound of a great shout,
and a trumpets blare,
when the Saints will meet,
Christ in the air;
We will be ushered to Heaven above,
because of His amazing grace and eternal love.

Words of the Past

As I have stated before, I love reading old Daily Bread booklets. My Mother loved to listen to Back to the Bible broadcasts and applying their teaching to her life. We also should be listening to words of wisdom found in God's word.
Here is and old Daily Bread page from January 1994, hope you enjoy and a Happy New Year everyone!

Buying a new car is a major investment. We want to be sure we are getting our money’s worth. We also want to be certain that the vehicle won’t cause us trouble. So we carefully file the manufacturer’s warranty, confident that if something doesn't work right we can take our car back to the dealer. Not only are we sure they have trained people who can troubleshoot the problem and fix it, but we know they have all the manufacturer’s specifications and the parts that may be needed.
When we run into difficulties in life and aren't able to get things working right, where can we turn for help? Doesn't it make sense that the One who made us is totally qualified to supply the indispensable help we need? The psalmist David found great comfort in this fact. He wrote, “You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works . . . . How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them!” (Ps. 139:13-14,17).
God’s help is as available today as it was then. And who is more qualified to know what we need than the One who made us!
All that I am I owe to Thee,
Thy wisdom, Lord, has fashioned me;
I give my Maker thankful praise,
Whose wondrous works my soul amaze. —Psalter
God’s warranty: You’re covered for a lifetime.

Bible Verses for Today!

th (1)
Romans 8
King James Version (KJV)
8 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

DECEMBER

December is my favorite month, it ushers in winter and brings the sounds of Christmas, which are laughter and songs of joy and peace unto men. We see Christmas programs at the local churches and in schools and the excitement in the children’s eyes as the 25 of December draws nearer. December usually brings the first good fall of snow and cold weather causing the drinking of hot chocolate and marshmallows floating on top, my favorite brew. Yes, December with the sounds of Christmas in the air and warm smiles seen on faces everywhere, my favorite month, I do declare, DECEMBER!

Thanks but in part;
The full, the true Thanksgiving
Comes from the heart.

Thanksgiving was never meant to be shut up in a single day.  ~Robert Caspar Lintner

The unthankful heart... discovers no mercies; but let the thankful heart sweep through the day and, as the magnet finds the iron, so it will find, in every hour, some heavenly blessings!  ~Henry Ward Beecher

Let us remember that, as much has been given us, much will be expected from us, and that true homage comes from the heart as well as from the lips, and shows itself in deeds.  ~Theodore Roosevelt

Lord, 'tis Thy plenty-dropping hand
That soils my land,
And giv'st me for my bushel sowne
Twice ten for one.
All this, and better, Thou dost send
Me, to this end,
That I should render, for my part,
A thankful heart.

For what I give, not what I take,
For battle, not for victory,
My prayer of thanks I make.

In Touch with Charles Stanley

In Touch with Charles Stanley

Hi my friends!
It is 7 AM and very cold outside, the stars are still shinning brightly and reminds me of my childhood when my brother and I would rise early on Christmas morn and walk down the road to our friends about this same time. There was always lots of snow back then and chances were we would always have a white Christmas. It is about this time every year, around Thanksgiving I start dreaming of a white Christmas, maybe just maybe my dream will come true again this year.

Our Daily Bread

Our Daily Bread:

'via Blog this'

Old Bread

I love looking at OLD DAILY BREAD  writings and would like to share these words from the past with you in the now from  Nov.16, 1994.

 Have you heard about the man who took his old car to a dealer and asked him to sell it for him? When the dealer asked how many miles were on it, the man replied, “It’s got 230,000.” The salesman replied, “It’ll never sell unless you turn back the mileage.” So the man left.
When the car salesman hadn’t heard from the man for several weeks, he called him. “I thought you were going to sell that old car.”
“I don’t have to anymore,” came the reply. “It’s only got 77,000 miles on it now. Why should I sell it?”
This story illustrates a spiritual truth. Too many people today are only fooling themselves if they think they’re pleasing God by just changing their external behavior. What they need is a new heart.
The old car still had a sick engine, bad rings, and a transmission that slipped. Turning back its odometer had not changed that! In the same way, people who try to please God by living a good life without first trusting in Christ are like the Pharisees who were clean on the outside but still filthy on the inside (Mt. 23:25).
Good works can’t change your heart. Only personal faith in Christ brings cleansing inside and out. Then your good works and righteous life will be pleasing to God.
We cannot earn new life in heaven
By word or work or worth;
But when we trust in Jesus Christ,
He’ll give to us new birth. —Anon.

In everyone's life, at some time, our inner fire goes out.  It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being.  We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit.  ~Albert Schweitzer
