Jakeswords: Rocking in His Arms!

Jakeswords: Rocking in His Arms!: ROCKING IN HIS ARMS! I am rocking, rocking in the arms of Jesus, no better place to be, rocking in the arms of Jesus, ...

Favorite Bible Chapters!

Today I am sharing one of my favorite chapters in the King James Version; I trust you enjoy it as I do!

Philippians 4

Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved.
I beseech Euodias, and beseech Syntyche, that they be of the same mind in the Lord.
And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellowlabourers, whose names are in the book of life.
Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.
Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.
10 But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at the last your care of me hath flourished again; wherein ye were also careful, but ye lacked opportunity.
11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.
12 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
14 Notwithstanding ye have well done, that ye did communicate with my affliction.
15 Now ye Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only.
16 For even in Thessalonica ye sent once and again unto my necessity.
17 Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account.
18 But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God.
19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
20 Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
21 Salute every saint in Christ Jesus. The brethren which are with me greet you.
22 All the saints salute you, chiefly they that are of Caesar's household.
23 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

TRUTH

Quote: God offers to every mind its choice between truth and repose. Take which you please — you can never have both. ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

Bible teaching: John 4:44 For Jesus himself testified, that a prophet hath no honour in his own country.

Truth Quote:The trouble about man is twofold. He cannot learn truths which are too complicated; he forgets truths which are too simple. ~Rebecca West

Truth Quote:Truth is light of foot like a fawn, not heavy like lead. It is young with the spirit of youth, but we bend it with weight in its still young years. ~Muriel Strode (1875–1964), "A Soul's Faring: VII," A Soul's Faring, 1921

Seek truth and you will find a path. ~Frank Slaughter

           Psalm 25:5
Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.

Drips and Drops!

Today I sit,
and stare out my window,
watching the drops of rain,
as it drips off the roof,
while others drip,
drip down the window pane.
I remember when a lad,
when rainy days,
were the best days;
we would gather,
in the old,old tree house,
and play monopoly all day,
and pass the day away.
The rain goes drip, drip,
slow and steady down the drain;
soon the clouds will clear,
and the drips and drops,
will stop until it rains again.

Rocking in His Arms!

ROCKING IN HIS ARMS!

I am rocking,
rocking in the arms of Jesus,
no better place to be,
rocking in the arms of Jesus,
a great refuge for me.
Once I walked in sin,
until Jesus took me in;
now I am safe,
I am rocking secure,
in the arms of Jesus.
So my dear friend,
if you are walking in sin,
ask Jesus to forgive,
and come rock with me,
safely rocking in the arms of Jesus.

AN AUGUST DAY!

THE DAY WAS EARLY,
THE DAY WAS  COOL,
THEN THE HOT SUN CAME OUT,
AND THE COOL WAS GONE.
THE HEAT WAVE HAD BEGUN,
THE HUMMING BIRD BUZZED,
BUZZED SWIFTLY IN THE SUN.
THE DAY WAS BUSY,
IT HAD JUST BEGUN,
THE NICE DAY BECKONED ME,
TO LAY  AND READ A BOOK'
UNDER THE BIG MAPLE TREE!

A FAVORITE BIBLE CHAPTER!

Colossians 3 King James Version (KJV)

If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:
In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.
But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.
Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:
11 Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.
12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
18 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.
19 Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.
20 Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.
21 Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.
22 Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God;
23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.
25 But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.

HAND OF TIME

God's hand of time is ticking,

around and around it goes,

until the appointed time,

time for Jesus to return,

to take His children home.

That moment nobody,

nobody really knows;

what a wonderful day,

day that will be,

what a meeting in the air,

to Jesus and our loved ones

and many warriors of prayer.

Just Thinking!

I am sitting in my study looking out the window on a very cold day in NB, Canada; I am thinking about some of the great days I have enjoyed these 76 years of my life and how richly I have been blessed. Here is a poem I wrote about life.

Setting Sail: Life is like a voyage, sailing across the sea, setting our sails, to find breezes to set us free. as we set sail, we find the sailing may be rough, the waves roaring high, visibility mighty tough. We discover it is so hard, to be captain of our ship, when we have an enemy, seeking to make us slip. When our lives, like the ships, face tempest and despair, we need to seek a harbor, and find shelter there. In this voyage, we have a choice, who will captain our ship, Jesus, who wants to save us; Satan who wants us scuttle our ship. So dear soul, who will your captain be; Satan who keeps you in bondage, or Jesus who will set you free?

I trust you enjoyed this writing!

A FAVORITE PSALMS

This is a great Psalms instructing all things to praise all the great worship our God and Creator deserves!

Psalm 148King James Version (KJV)

148 Praise ye the Lord. Praise ye the Lord from the heavens: praise him in the heights.
Praise ye him, all his angels: praise ye him, all his hosts.
Praise ye him, sun and moon: praise him, all ye stars of light.
Praise him, ye heavens of heavens, and ye waters that be above the heavens.
Let them praise the name of the Lord: for he commanded, and they were created.
He hath also stablished them for ever and ever: he hath made a decree which shall not pass.
Praise the Lord from the earth, ye dragons, and all deeps:
Fire, and hail; snow, and vapours; stormy wind fulfilling his word:
Mountains, and all hills; fruitful trees, and all cedars:
10 Beasts, and all cattle; creeping things, and flying fowl:
11 Kings of the earth, and all people; princes, and all judges of the earth:
12 Both young men, and maidens; old men, and children:
13 Let them praise the name of the Lord: for his name alone is excellent; his glory is above the earth and heaven.
14 He also exalteth the horn of his people, the praise of all his saints; even of the children of Israel, a people near unto him. Praise ye the Lord.
