A CHRISTMAS QUOTE

Happy, happy Christmas, that can win us back to the delusions of our childish days; that can recall to the old man the pleasures of his youth; that can transport the sailor and the traveler, thousands of miles away, back to his own fire-side and his quiet home! ~Charles Dickens, The Pickwick Papers

MY FAVORITE PSALMS!

Psalm 121English Standard Version (ESV)

My Help Comes from the Lord

A Song of Ascents.

121 lift up my eyes to the hills.
    From where does my help come?
My help comes from the Lord,
    who made heaven and earth.
He will not let your foot be moved;
    he who keeps you will not slumber.
Behold, he who keeps Israel
    will neither slumber nor sleep.
The Lord is your keeper;
    the Lord is your shade on your right hand.
The sun shall not strike you by day,
    nor the moon by night.
The Lord will keep you from all evil;
    he will keep your life.
The Lord will keep
    your going out and your coming in
    from this time forth and forevermore.

TODAY'S PSALMS

Psalm 4 English Standard Version (ESV)

Answer Me When I Call

To the choirmaster: with stringed instruments. A Psalm of David.

Answer me when I call, O God of my righteousness!
    You have given me relief when I was in distress.
    Be gracious to me and hear my prayer!
O men,[a] how long shall my honor be turned into shame?
    How long will you love vain words and seek after lies? Selah
But know that the Lord has set apart the godly for himself;
    the Lord hears when I call to him.
Be angry,[b] and do not sin;
    ponder in your own hearts on your beds, and be silent.Selah
Offer right sacrifices,
    and put your trust in the Lord.
There are many who say, “Who will show us some good?
    Lift up the light of your face upon us, O Lord!”
You have put more joy in my heart
    than they have when their grain and wine abound.
In peace I will both lie down and sleep;
    for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.

JUST LOOKING!

Looking out my window,
once again,
watching birds fly,
to and fro they go,
some fly fast,
some fly slow.
A eagle, a mighty bird,
flies high in the sky,
and over in the pine,
I hear a blue jay cry,
rain, rain, I want rain.
A robin sings,
from it's perch,
on top of an aspen,
cheer-up, cheer-up.
From my window,
I have been taught,
by my feathered friends,
about God's creation,
His creation that never ends.

BRIGHT LIGHTS

BRIGHT LIGHTS
Sun,sun,
high in the sky,
your rays so bright,
after a dark night;
I should be happy,
but why do I cry?
I cry,
because I am sad,
that the world,
is getting so bad,
even as God's SON,
shines HIS light,
so many mock,
so many doubt;
so let us pray,
that people will seek,
and follow,
 the SONLIGHT today.

A Favorite Quote!

The great omission in American life is solitude; not loneliness, for this is an alienation that thrives most in the midst of crowds, but that zone of time and space, free from the outside pressures, which is the incubator of the spirit. ~Marya Mannes

A GREAT PSALMS!

Psalm 121New King James Version

God the Help of Those Who Seek Him

A Song of Ascents.

121 I will lift up my eyes to the hills—
From whence comes my help?
My help comes from the Lord,
Who made heaven and earth.
He will not allow your foot to be moved;
He who keeps you will not slumber.
Behold, He who keeps Israel
Shall neither slumber nor sleep.
The Lord is your keeper;
The Lord is your shade at your right hand.
The sun shall not strike you by day,
Nor the moon by night.
The Lord shall preserve you from all evil;
He shall preserve your soul.
The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in
From this time forth, and even forevermore.

Verse of Today

Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus: That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Romans 15:5-6 KJV

A WINTER OBSERVATION!

The icicles glow,
as the moon shines,
soon it will snow;
The weather person,
says it will rain,
nice to have it,
warmer again.
Now the rain,
begins to fall,
water goes drip drip,
and the icicles fall.
O, how I want to hear,
the robin's song,
and the wild goose call.

A WRITING

WRITING

There was an old man,

who sat on a log,

taking a rest,

while walking his dog.

The snow flurries,

started fluttering down,

soon to put a white blanket,

to cover the cold ground.

High in an old maple tree,

a blue jay cries for rain,

and not for snow again.

Now with a pause,

and a sigh,

I thank God,

who watches us,

from His throne on high;

Thank you Father,

for sending your Son,

through His shed blood,

we have salvation,

and a victory won.

WINTERS DAY

Snow flakes, snow flakes,
fill the dark sky,
in the distance,
a blue jay cries;
Chick a Dee  fly,
fly to and fro,
as to the feeders they go.
Doves sit on the wires,
they sit in the trees,
cooing to each other,
and that sounds,
wonderful to me.

LOVELY EVENING!

As I lay,
looking out my windows,
as snow flutters down,
today a foot of snow,
covers the ground.
The snow so fluffy,
so white,
O, how it will glisten,
when the moon shines tonight.
God's love and grace,
is like the white snow,
He forgives our sins,
by the crimson blood,
that Jesus shed,
to cover black sin,
white as snow.

THIS DAY

This day is quiet,
this day is gray,
the weather person,
don't mention snow today.
A New Year has began,
folk say thanks,
thanks for the old,
as a New Year they plan.
Thank you Heavenly Father,
for leading our way,
and may we,
always be thankful,
when we pray!
